Who says that great American wine has to be unaffordable for us Brits? This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend is described by the renowned and award-winning Hedges Family Estate as their "Bistro pourer" - i.e. a great wine to drink by the glass with your evening meal on a weekday. We think that undersells it. This organic and biodynamic wine is an excellent treat which will do you proud when you uncork it to share with family and friends over a meal.
Tasting Notes
Light red jammy fruits, with undertones of earth, spice, and hint of light cocoa powder and vanilla bean. Rustic structure with earthy cherry, bramble bush, dried basil and a long impactful finish.
Food pairing
Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah are all known for producing full-bodied, tannic styles of wine, so it is no surprise that a blend of these should have a similar style. Will work with a full flavoured cheese-based dish, as well as red meats which are high in fatty proteins - the tannins in this wine will bind with the proteins of the meat and clear your palate making your mouth ready for the next bite.
